For almost 20 years we enjoyed Disney Quest, and then on July 2nd we said goodbye as it closed down for good in Disney Spring’s West Side. Since then it’s been sitting waiting for the next step. Well that step is getting closer by the moment as the Disney Quest demolition is now being prepared, and thanks to @Bioreconstruct we have a look as that is happening.
From the picture above you can see that part of the sign on the back wall has been taken down. Most of the work right now is going on from the back of the building obviously to keep guest disturbance to a minimum. The sign has been taken down to make it easier for workers to access the building.
A walk around the side of the building also reveals something else:
Orange lines have been drawn and holes have been punched in the walls for each floor marking for the Disney Quest demolition. This goes with the permits filed on July 17th with Orange County to demolish Disney Quest and additional work.
This shot reveals the interior being taken out:
Disney Quest is being replaced by the NBA Experience which will be a one-of-a-kind basketball-themed experience featuring hands-on activities that will make guests feel like they are right in the middle of NBA game action. Expect a restaurant, interactivity and of course lots of shopping. No word on when it’s opening or what the structure will be like yet. We’ll let you know as soon as we find something!
Your Thoughts:
I want to know what you think about the Disney Quest demolition process underway. Are you sad to see Disney Quest go? What would you like to see included in the new NBA Experience? Let us know in the comments section below!

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
