Coronado Springs Expansion Permits Filed

Coronado Springs Expansion PermitsSome months ago we found out about a new expansion project coming to the Coronado Springs resort which would drastically change the future of the resort.  Thanks to wdwinfo.com we got a look at the Coronado Springs Expansion permits to see what those upgrades will look like.  Those permits were filed with the South Florida Water Management District,

Disney plans to build a 15-story tower overlooking Lago Dorado which will hold 500 rooms including suites and concierge-level rooms.  Even though we already knew that, we now get a better look at the exact positioning of the tower in relation to the rest of the property.

Here we can see the demolition area:

You can see the tower’s location better from the drainage and grading plan:

Lastly we can see the plans they have for a “floating gardens and an island oasis that connects the resort through a series of bridges” as well as a new restaurant over the lake.  From the plans you can see the how it will be setup:

Now from the initial announcement from Disney we found out there would be a restaurant with panoramic views on the 15th floor of the new tower going into Coronado Springs, but from these latest permits we know there will be a over-water restaurant on the lake too.  I haven’t heard anything has changed for the tower restaurant so it essentially seems that Coronado Springs is getting 2 new restaurants, and both with killer views.  Looks like Coronado Springs is going to be a major point of interest once this is finished!
