Though it was supposed to re-open with Pixar Pier in June, the World of Color refurbishment has been extended until late 2018 in Disney California Adventure. The refurbishment has been going on for about 3 months now and was supposed to reopen June 22, instead it’s been pushed back until the end of the year.
Disney has not given a reason for the extended World of Color refurbishment, expect that it’s standard maintenance although some say it could be that the table which holds the underwater screens and fountains has been damaged and that’s the hold up. Either way Disney isn’t saying, nor have they given a specific date for end of the refurbishment.
Right now until September 3rd Pixar Fest is over, Disney California Adventure at least has the “Paint the Night” parade as nighttime entertainment so it shouldn’t be a big deal until then when guests start missing it. We expect World of Color to be back up around the holiday period unless there is another setback.
Your Thoughts:

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
