After many years of rumors, Disney has announced a Monsters Inc. doors roller coaster as part of the mini-land of Monstropolis coming soon to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
In this story, we will discuss everything that was announced about the all-new land themed to Pixar’s Monsters Inc. in Hollywood Studios and what exactly will be included in this expansion.
(UPDATE) – Disney has confirmed that the new Monsters Inc. land at Hollywood Studios will replace Muppets Courtyard, and MuppetVision 3D will close for the expansion.
On a bright note, though MuppetVision 3D is leaving, that may not be the last we see of it in the Disney theme parks. We’ll get into what’s leaving in a minute, but let’s first look at what we know about this new project Monstropolis.
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro made the announcement at the “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase” during the D23 Expo at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
