For years we heard rumors about a high-speed train coming to Disney World and we were thrilled when it was officially announced a couple of years ago.

Since the Brightline high-speed passenger train from Miami to Orlando was announced, it included a stop at Disney Springs.

Due to protesting from Hunter’s Creek residents and pressure from I-Drive businesses, the route was changed and the track will now run through the I-Drive corridor alongside State Road 528.

Rail service to Walt Disney World has been something that’s been discussed now for decades, yet those plans have never been realized.

The rest of the Brightline project is about 80% done according to the Orlando Business Journal, and the 170-mile route from Miami to Orlando should be completed by the end of 2022.

Recently Disney and Brightline have agreed to bring high-speed train service to Walt Disney World with a stop at Disney Springs.
