Disneyland and Disney World introduced a virtual queuing system which has been designed to limit the crowds and make visiting the parks a more enjoyable experience overall.

UPDATE 1/11/22 – Over in EPCOT, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has stopped using the Virtual Queue after using it since it opened in October.

They also recently stopped using the Virtual Queue on Rise of the Resistance and the new WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure ride in Disney California Adventure.

Disney World may be making more additions to the Virtual Queue by adding more rides like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Jungle Cruise in the future.

This would help with the excess crowds at those attractions but for now, it’s not in the plans.

The Virtual Queue isn’t being used as much right now in Disney World as previously thought, and it is no longer being used for Star Wars.

Instead, Disney was using the regular attraction queues, and Lightning Lane queues to control crowds getting in line for various rides, which was Disney’s best option at the time.

However, things have changed and everything has started getting back to normal again.

It was important to control the crowds in 2020 and most of 2021, but since more people started coming to the parks again, Disney has been less concerned, even eliminating the distanced queues.
