A new expansion is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Encanto and Indiana Jones will replace DinoLand U.S.A. in a much-needed reimagining called Pueblo Esperanza.
This story covers everything announced about the Animal Kingdom expansion, including the DinoLand U.S.A. replacement, Pueblo Esperanza, and what to expect in the coming years.
You are likely as excited as me about the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion in Disney’s Animal Kingdom which was highlighted at the latest D23 Expo, but now we finally have a clearer timeline of when the old attractions are closing and when the new ones will be ready.
Disney hasn’t made the official announcement at this time, but insiders have said that it will be a phased closure which will begin before the holiday season in 2024 and carry on into 2025.
The first phase of the closure will be Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama. That is the carnival-looking area toward the entrance of Dinoland. The games will close, as well as TriceraTop Spin.
